Plastic surgery is a big decision that requires careful research and planning. The most crucial step is finding a qualified and trustworthy plastic surgeon to perform your procedure. We would love to be your choice, but we also want you to be confident and comfortable with whoever you pick.

He has published several papers in medical journals.

Dr. Shah is passionate about helping children with facial deformities through Operation Smile, a global charity that provides free surgeries. HOW TO CHOOSE A PLASTIC SURGEON

Your health and happiness are our top priorities. We share this information to help you avoid the risks of getting plastic surgery from an unskilled or unlicensed provider. While no surgery can guarantee perfect results, you can increase your chances of success by being well informed and choosing the best plastic surgeon for you. Here are some questions you should always ask yourself before making your decision:

PLASTIC SURGEON TRAINING

The most important factor in choosing a plastic surgeon is their training. Make sure they have completed an accredited plastic surgery program. This is crucial because doctors can perform any procedure without legal limits. Plastic surgery training requires three or four years of general surgery or ear, nose, and throat, plus two years of plastic surgery.

PLASTIC SURGEON CERTIFICATION

Another key question is if your plastic surgeon is board certified, and by which board. Only two boards are related to plastic surgery: the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Osteopathic Association. Other boards may “certify” doctors, but they may not test or train them in plastic surgery. Our own Bivik Shah is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

PLASTIC SURGEON CHARACTER

The last and most vital factor in choosing a plastic surgeon is their character. You need someone who can answer your questions, make you feel at ease, and earn your trust.

Nothing beats meeting your plastic surgeon in person. If you want a plastic surgery procedure like breast augmentation or liposuction, call the Columbus Institute of Plastic Surgery now. Dr. Shah will talk to you one-on-one about your choices and the best procedures for you.
